A butterfly-like lesion involving the body of the corpus callosum. Eliciting high signal at T2 and FLAIR WIs and low signal at T1 WIs with homogeneous contrast uptake Mild surrounding edema. No cystic changes. No other similar lesions.
Right basal ganglia and left subinsular cystic changes without enhancement most probably represent encephalomalacia.
Case Discussion
The differential diagnosis for this case includes:
- glioblastoma, less likely due to no cystic changes and mild edema
- multiple sclerosis, less likely due to the absence of other lesions
