Presentation
Asymptomatic. Incidental right lower lobe mass on chest radiograph.
Patient Data
There is peripheral mass-like consolidation in the left lower lobe, broadly abutting the pleura. The air bronchograms extend deep into the mass without distortion.
Lungs otherwise clear with no features to suggest bronchiolitis. No lymphadenopathy or effusion.
Normal pulmonary arteries. No pulmonary embolism.
Case Discussion
Histology:
Pulmonary infiltration with extranodal marginal zone lymphoma without plasmacytic differentiation.
MALT-Lymphoma is the most common primary pulmonary lymphoma.
For the diagnosis of a primary pulmonary lymphoma, there should be no further manifestation elsewhere in the body over 3 months. In this case, there was no further manifestation of lymphoma for over 3 years.
