Prolapsed rectus gyrus on the right between the right anterior cerebral artery and right internal carotid artery compresses the prechiasmatic right optic nerve.
Case Discussion
On retinal scans, the pattern of ganglion cell loss was compatible with a right optic tract lesion. A follow-up MRI 2 years later showed no change. No pathological cause is seen in this case, which has also been reported in case reports. This is a rare cause of optic neuropathy although this pattern can also be seen in patients without optic neuropathy.
