Prostatic abscess

D/o difficulty in passing urine.

Patient Data

Age: about 60 yrs
Gender: Male

Prostate -- 42 x 42 x 38 mm.- Volume - 37 cc

A lobulated hypoechoic area with mobile internal echoes is noted involving right side of gland. It causes contour bulge towards rectum. size - 30 x 29 x 24 mm  - 11 cc

Peripheral zone is normal.

No calcification focus is seen.

No periprostatic collection is seen.

Power dopplar - perilesional vascularity

Prostatic urethra shows normal appearence without calculus.

Seminal vesicles- Present bilaterally

Vas Deference - Present bilaterally

Case Discussion

Findings very much suggest an abscess in prostate gland.
