Enlarged prostate (about 50 ml), with enlargement of its central zone which elicits heterogeneous T2 & STIR signal showing multiple nodules of mixed of low & high signal.
The transitional zone of the left prostatic base shows a well defined multilocular cystic lesion. It elicits low signal at T1 WI and high signal at T2 WI showing restricted diffusion and marginal intense post contrast enhancement with adjacent patchy enhancement at the dynamic series.
A small posterior midline cyst is seen adjacent to the forementioned loculated cystic lesion showing low signal at T1 and high signal at T2 WI showing mild marginal post contrast enhancement, yet with no diffusion restriction.
Benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) and prostatic abscess.
Diagnosis was confirmed by laboratory work up and TRUS.
