Proximal focal femoral deficiency - bilateral class A

Presentation

Born with bilaterally shortened lower limbs. Unremarkable gestation.

Patient Data

Age: 3 years
Gender: Male

Bilateral congenital shortening of both femoral necks and shafts, with bilateral symmetrical femoral flattening. 

Both femoral heads are well-formed, contained within their corresponding acetabula.

Both patellae are unossifed.

Case Discussion

Bilateral flattening and shortening of both femurs with well-formed acetabula and femoral heads. 

Both patellae are present but are still unossified. 

Findings suggest Aitken class A proximal focal femoral deficiency.
