Presentation

Pain and swelling in the dorsal left foot in the are of the 2nd toe for 2 days after twisting.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Left 2nd toe proximal phalanx comminuted fracture is noted with no clear extension to the MTP or PIP joints.

Case Discussion

Phalanx fractures with no extension into the adjacent joints mostly have a good prognosis.

No significant displacement is noted, so immobilization is enough in this case.
