History of trauma by fall while walking 10 days ago, on local examination: swelling, tenderness, and restriction of movement.

  • fracture at the head of the proximal phalanx of the left big toe, with intra-articular extension
  • soft tissue swelling
  • mild osteoarthritic changes in the metatarsophalangeal joint
