Presentation

Alleged assault with a gold club.

Patient Data

Gender: Male
x-ray

There is a displaced fracture of the proximal ulna that involves the trochlear notch.

Case Discussion

This fracture on the lateral projection is very evident, yet somewhat subtle on the AP projection. Although sometimes technically demanding, it is apparent in this series that views 90° are fitting. The horizontal beam AP projection is a sound example of a modified radiographic technique to achieve diagnostic images despite positional difficulties.
