Presentation

Left foot twist at the workplace. Clinically tender at the 5th metatarsal base of the left foot.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Transverse fracture at the base of the left 5th metatarsal bone with intra-articular extension.

Case Discussion

The fracture is located about 1 cm distal to the joint, whereas a Jones fracture is typically located at least 2 cm distal to the joint.
