There is a horizontally (transversally) oriented radiolucent line seen in the base of the proximal 5th metatarsal bone.
Case Discussion
Features are suggestive of avulsion fracture of the 5th metatarsal styloid, also known as a pseudo-Jones fracture, which should be differentiated from other proximal fifth metatarsal fractures.
