Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

A transverse fracture is present in the base of the 5th metatarsal bone, reaching the metatarsocuboid articular surface.

Case Discussion

Avulsion fractures of the 5th metatarsal styloid, also known as pseudo-Jones fractures, should be differentiated from other fractures at the base of the 5th metatarsal because these fractures can be treated conservatively and heal well.
