Pseudo-permeative process in talus

Presentation

12 week history of immobilization of right foot on background of Weber C fracture.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

Multiple cortical holes noted within the talus with relative sparing of the cortical integrity. Delayed union of Weber C fracture. Minimally displaced avulsion fracture of posterior calcaneus at Achille's insertion. 

Medullary holes with cortical sparing within the talus is again noted, consistent with pseudo-permeative process in bone /disuse osteopenia.

Delayed union of Weber C fracture, with minimal callus formation.
