The lumen of the pseudoaneurysm is connected to the parent vessel through a tract (neck) of variable length and diameter. The arrows in the diagram denote the direction of the blood flow. The swirling pattern of flow within the pseudoaneurysm lumen creates the characteristic yin-yang pattern on color Doppler.
