Age: 14 years
Gender: Male

CT abdomen and pelvis

CT images demonstrate diffuse bowel wall thickening and oedema, and mucosal enhancement involving the entire colon and the rectum.

Case Discussion

Pseudomembranous colitis from Clostridium difficile is relatively uncommon in childhood and is more often associated with children with predisposing conditions as in our case e.g. history of leukemia.
