Psoas abscess

Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Diffuse swelling in the left lumbar posterolateral region for the last few weeks.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Large left psoas abscess herniating to the posterior aspect of the lumbar region and posterior to the oblique abdominal muscles. Extension to an abnormal intervertebral lumbar disc.

A lumbar radiograph was suggested.

Right small psoas abscess.

x-ray

L3 - L4 disc changes with adjacent vertebral body involvement.

Case Discussion

No follow up.

Presumed Tuberculosis.
