Recurrence of dyspnea.

Patient Data

Age: 7th decade
Gender: Female

Radiographic Findings

  • Tracheobronchial abnormalities: Calcification
  • Parenchymal abnormalities
    • Multiple nodules up to 20 mm
    • Interstitial disease: reticulonodular opacities 
  • Lymphadenopathy

Non-contrast enhanced Chest-CT

  • Tracheobronchial abnormalities: submucosal calcification
  • Parenchymal abnormalities
    • Nodules with calcification, reticulonodular opacities
    • Ground-glass opacities, multiple variably sized cysts, thick bronchovascular bundles
  • Lymphadenopathy: mediastinal nodules with diffuse to eggshell calcifications

Case Discussion

This 63 years old female patient showed recurrence of dyspnea with known diagnosis of light-chain amyloidosis.

Thus the plain X-ray gave no clues in comparison to prior shots.

CT scan revealed new massive ground glass opacity.
