Pulmonary arteriovenous malformation

Case contributed by Dr Heba Mohamed

Patient Data

Age: 32 years
Gender: Male

Multiple dilated vascular structures originate from the left pulmonary artery and end within the left pulmonary veins that appear enlarged if compared to the contralateral side. Cuts within the upper liver demonstrate two perpherally filling hepatic focal lesions.

Case Discussion

The co-existence of pulmonary arteriovenous malformation together with hepatic hemangiomas is in keeping with Hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia.
