Presentation

H/o dyspnoea associated with cough since 1 week

Patient Data

Age: 25
Gender: Female
Modality: X-ray

Right opacified hemithorax with central position of trachea and normal position of the heart shadow.

The patient is mildly rotated.

Case Discussion

This is case of right sided consolidation which is one of the stages of pneumonia.

The central position of trachea is the clue to the diagnosis. 

An element of pleural effusion cannot be ruled out on x-ray, but can be confirmed on ultrasonography.
