Increased subpleural reticular markings throughout both lungs, with an upper lobe predominance.
Case Discussion
Pulmonary fibrosis has a broad differential, although idiopathic (aka UIP) is the commonest cause.
It is strongly associated with rheumatological conditions as well as occupational dust exposures.
Reticular markings and volume loss are key plain film features, however this is crude compared to the detail on HRCT.
