Presentation
Eights months of worsening shortness of breath.
Patient Data

Reticulation at lung bases is suggestive of pulmonary fibrosis. These changes are often best appreciated in scleroderma when fibrosis involving the bases is established.

HRCT shows sub pleural reticulation changes in an apico-basal distribution. There is evidence of traction bronchiectasis and honeycomb formation in both bases
Case Discussion
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) describes those cases when no cause for the fibrosis can be found.
Known causes of pulmonary fibrosis include asbestosis, chronic hypersensitivity pneumonitis, collagen vascular disorders and amiodarone.
