Case contributed by Frank Gaillard

Patient Data

Age: Adult

Well circumscribed opacity projecting through the cardiac silhouette. Calcific densities are also noted projecting over the right upper quadrant.

CT confirms the presence of this mass and demonstrates that parts of it are of fat density. Features are consistent with a pulmonary hamartoma. Calcified gallstones are also incidentally noted.

Case Discussion

Well circumscribed pulmonary mass with fat density is characteristic of a pulmonary hamartoma. Follow-up has demonstrated no change in size over 5 years.
