Presentation

Cough.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Right upper zone pulmonary nodule.

Heart size normal.  Left lung clear.

5 years later

x-ray

Right upper zone pulmonary nodule.  Unchanged from 5 years prior.

Heart size normal.  Left lung clear.

7 years later

x-ray

Right upper zone pulmonary nodule.Unchanged from a film of 7 years ago.

Heart size normal.  Left lung clear.

Hiatus hernia.

1 year later

ct

1.6cm fat density nodule in the apical segment of the right lower lobe.  Some intralesional soft tissue, but no calcification.

Lungs are otherwise normal.

No mediastinal lymphadenopathy.

Case Discussion

Longitudinal imaging of a static solitary pulmonary nodule over 8 years.

The lesion is of fat density on CT consistent with a pulmonary hamartoma.
