Presentation

Recurrent chest infection and respiratory distress.

Patient Data

Age: 3 years
Gender: Female

Chest

ct

Right lung hypoplasia with smaller bronchus and shift heart and mediastinum toward the right side.
Right hypoplastic pulmonary artery (4 mm compared to 10 mm left pulmonary artery) and right hypoplastic pulmonary vein. The left lung and its vasculature are normal.

Trachea and left bronchial tree are normal.

Case Discussion

Pulmonary hypoplasia is the least severe form of pulmonary agenesis (type III).
