Follow up chest x-ray in known breast cancer patient.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female

The most obvious finding is that of numerous bilateral round hyperdensities of variable sizes of the pulmonary parenchyma, so-called "cannonball metastases" in this clinical picture.

Right mastectomy.

The trachea and mainstem bronchi remain patent and central.

This appearance is considered pathognomonic for metastases.
