Pulmonary sequestration - intralobar

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Chills, fever and cough since three days ago. PCR test of COVID-19 infection was positive.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

Left lower lung air-trapping of posterior and medial basal segments with no connection with the bronchial tree. It has a systemic arterial supply taking origin from the descending thoracic aorta above the diaphragm. The venous drainage is via the pulmonary venous system.

Case Discussion

With regarding the CT features, intralobar pulmonary sequestration is detected as an incidental findings in a patient with COVID-19 positive PCR test and two ground glass nodules in left lower lobe.
