Presentation

Young patient with bilateral obstructive uropathy with renal failure. Bladder catheterization yielded pus.

Case Discussion

Pyonephrosis is pus within the renal collecting system.

It frequently occurs in an obstructed renal tract due to stasis.

Percutaneous nephrostomy insertion is a life saving first line treatment, to treat sepsis and prevent terminal renal impairment.
