Quadriceps fat pad is high signal on fat-saturated sequences with a convex posterior border bulging into the suprapatellar recess.
Small ganglion cyst arising from the anterior horn lateral meniscus.

Edema of the quadriceps fat pad is common and often incidental but can represent an impingement syndrome in the correct clinical setting.
