Quadriceps fat pad impingement syndrome

Presentation

Vague knee pain. No history of trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

The anterior suprapatellar fat pad shows edema with increased signal intensity with a slightly convex posterior surface. Associated minimal effusion in the suprapatellar recess.

Case Discussion

Suprapatellar fat pad impingement as an unusual cause of knee pain. The imaging findings are edema and convex posterior surface of the anterior suprapatellar fat pad.
