Presentation
Received a blow against the knee 5 weeks ago. Persistent pain on extension and when rising from a chair.
From the case:
Quadriceps tendon partial tear

The tendon at the patellar base is thickened and shows increased signal, especially on T1-weighted images. Wavy anterior contours of the tendon. T2-hyperintense peritendinous edema or residual hematoma.
Case Discussion
The findings suggest a non-acute partial rupture with scar tissue formation within the tendon.
