Quadriceps tendon rupture

Caudally angulated patella is noted with marked soft tissue swelling around it findings suggestive of quadriceps tendon rupture.

Incidentally noted calcification of popliteal artery.

mri

MRI demonstrates detachment of quadriceps from patella and downward angulation of patella with marked edema.
