CT-scan shows small bowel thickening at the right iliac fossa (distal ileum) with an engorged mesentery, compatible with radiation-induced ileitis. The patient is currently treated with abdominal radiotherapy pre-operatively for a rectal cancer. No pneumoperitoneum. No free gluid.
There is a derivative ileal stoma at the right iliac fossa. The known rectal cancer is seen as an irregular thickening of the rectal wall.
