Presentation

The patient had a recent treatment with radiotherapy for neck cancer.

Age: 65 years

The examination was conducted to study the neck, though is possible to observe changes in lung apices. There is a ground-glass infiltrates associated with mild architectural distortion of the parenchyma. Observe the distribution pattern band around the upper mediastinum, near the irradiated region (larynx).

Case Discussion

Radiation pneumonitis is the acute manifestation of radiation-induced lung disease and is relatively common following radiotherapy for chest wall or intrathoracic malignancies.
