Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Tx N3 M0 limited stage small cell lung cancer. Consolidative mediastinal radiotherapy 40 Gy in 15 fractions. Presents eight weeks later with shortness of breath.

Age: 80 years
Gender: Male

x-ray

Bilateral perihilar ground glass opacities which are new from prior imaging.

Case Discussion

While there is a wide differential for the appearance, in this context, radiation pneumonitis is thought to be the most likely.
