Widening of the scapholunate interval. Significant narrowing of the radioscaphoid joint space with subchondral sclerosis and osteophytosis. The radiolunate articulation is completely preserved. The capitate is starting to migrate proximally.
Case Discussion
When osteoarthritis is seen only in the radioscaphoid articulation, one can be very confident of SLAC as a cause.
In this patient, there was a history of previous FOOSH several years before and a diagnosis of scapholunate ligament rupture in another country for which the patient did not seek treatment.
