Raindrop skull

Case contributed by Dr Matt Skalski

Ill patient with history of HIV and multiple infections.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years old
Gender: Male

There are innumerable well-defined lytic lesions throughout the calvarium, involving the diploic space as well as the inner and outer tables  of the skull.

Case Discussion

This patient passed away shortly after these images were obtained, therefore multiple myeloma was never confirmed; however, the raindrop skull appearance seen in these images is classic.
