Rasmussen aneurysm

Case contributed by Dr Sandhya Sarjare

History of weight loss, presented with haemoptysis since 1 day.

Patient Data

Age: 54 years
Gender: Male

There are a few cavitary lesions in the left lung with a small pseudoaneurysm arising from one of the segmental branches of the left pulmonary artery in the posterior wall of one of the cavities.

Multiple bronchiolar nodules showing tree-in-bud appearance are seen in the left lung and in right upper lobe.

Case Discussion

Small pseudoaneurysm noted in the posterior wall of a thick walled cavity in left upper lobe. This patient was found to be sputum AFB positive, the findings hence suggestive of Rasmussen aneurysm.
