Presentation

Hobbyist using her right hand excessively over the last few weeks. Pain and swelling around 3rd MCP improving with anti-inflammatory medications.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

Soft tissue swelling surrounding the 3rd MCP, but no erosions.

Isolated synovitis in the 3rd MCP - note the dramatic increase in blood flow but minimal fluid. No erosion of bone and no other joints involved.
