Office related injury, large penetrating receipt spike in the right hand.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

There is a large metallic spike that is entering at the volar point of the hand between the first metacarpal web space, there is no evidence of bony involvement.

Case Discussion

When imaging large foreign bodies, it is important to obtain an 'en face' projection to ensure there is no bony involvement, luckily in this case there isn't.
