Rectal cancer - T3

Presentation

Bleeding per rectum.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female
mri

Mid rectal irregular circumferential wall thickening with linear extension beyond the serosa into the perirectal fat, for about a length of 4cm, approximately 8cm from the anal verge. The mass appears of low signal intensity on T1, intermediate signal on T2 with post-contrast enhancement and diffusion restriction. No extramural venous invasion.

No regional lymphadenopathy.

No distant metastasis.

Case Discussion

Pathologically proven rectal cancer. the patient underwent radiotherapy before the surgery and at pathology report, the tumor was demonstrated to be downsized to T2 disease with clear resection margins.
