Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Abdominal x-ray demonstrating a rectal foreign body comprising two thin-walled aluminum objects - what appears to be a pump-action spray bottle (lower component) and an empty tube (upper component). No batteries. No evidence of perforation or obstruction.

Case Discussion

Adequately describing foreign bodies is important to ensure that the entire object is removed. It is plausible in this case that only the lower component would be removed.
