Foreign body projecting over the pelvis. The foreign body is well-defined and recognizable as a large deodorant can.
No signs of perforation.
Case Discussion
Most patients with rectal foreign bodies experience lower abdominal pain/discomfort and anxiety. In the present case, however, the patient was mostly calm and asymptomatic.
The object was retrieved by performing abdominal manipulation under anesthesia.
It is important to properly identify such objects, because it may affect adequate management.
Case contributed in collaboration with Guilherme Pinho Cardoso.
