Rectus sheath hematoma

Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Blunt abdominal trauma 3 hours before the presentation. Complaining of pain in the right-sided abdominal wall region.

ultrasound

There is a heterogeneous anechoic-hypoechoic area abutting anterior surface of the right rectus muscle at the site of maximum tenderness. The rectus abdominis muscle shows continuity. There was no internal vascularity in the lesion.
There was no intraperitoneal abnormality.

Case Discussion

Given the clinical background, the ultrasound findings favor rectus sheath hematoma.
