Presentation

Acute abdominal pain left iliac fossa, history of diverticulitis.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female
ct

Large heterogeneous mass anterior to the left rectus abdominis muscle. This mass is sharply defined and does not spread elsewhere. In the mass there is extravasation of contrast which is compatible with acute (arterial) bleeding.

Findings are compatible with acute rectus sheath hematoma with active arterial bleeding.
