Rectus sheath hematoma

Old male presented with left upper abdominal wall tender swelling with no history of trauma, coagulopathy or being on prescribed medications.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male

A well defined elliptical shaped heterogeneous mass seen expanding the left upper rectus sheath with variable attenuation inside - consistent with blood products of different ages.

Case Discussion

Spontaneous rectus sheath hematoma with no predisposing factors and no medication use.
