Presentation

Left eye and upper eyelid pain, swelling, and epiphora with a history of systemic lupus erythematosus.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Female
ct

Left upper lid, lacrimal gland, and preseptal soft tissue swelling is seen.

Additionally, there is mucosal thickening on bilateral maxillary sinuses, more on the left side.

Case Discussion

The case illustrates the non-contrast MDCT features of pathology-proved recurrent dacryoadenitis in a patient with a history of systemic lupus erythematous.

After viral infection, vasculitis is one of the major causes of dacryoadenitis.
