Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Chronic right subcostal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

Enlarged liver with decreased echogenicity.

Intrahepatic biliary radicals dilatation with stones.

 Intrahepatic biliary radicals dilatation with intraluminal stones (hepatolithiasis).

Distal common bile duct obstruction with a stone.

Case Discussion

Recurrent pyogenic cholangitis (RPC) is most often seen in Asian countries. There are recurrent infections with presence of intrahepatic ductal calculi. These patients are prone to developing biliary cirrhosis and cholangiocarcinoma.
