- Postoperative status of the myelon at the level of the C3-T7 segments with extensive syrinx formation, synringohydromyelia, and marked widening of the spinal cord. Focal spontaneously T1 hyperintense areas are also visible adjacent to it, likely blood products.
- Patchy enhancement of the myelon in this region.
- Soft tissue seroma at the level of C5 dorsally and soft tissue stranding in line with the recent prior operation.
- Other findings: degenerative changes of primarily the lumbar spine, disc bulges, left foraminal hernia of the L3 disc.
Note: select sequences are shown from an examination of the complete neuraxis.
Case Discussion
The extensive syrinx formation and patchy enhancement in the previously operated segments is in line with local recurrence of the known ependymoma.
