Presentation

Bilateral foot pain. Long ICU stay for status epilepticus

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Reduced bone density in the tarsals, metatarsals and phalanges in a periarticular distribution. Normal alignment, no fracture or erosions.

Case Discussion

Prolonged immobilization is a known cause for Sudeck atrophy, as are CNS disorders such as status epilepticus.
