The foot is divided into three sections, the forefoot, midfoot and hindfoot, separated by the tarsometatarsal joints and the mid-tarsal joint.
Case Discussion
The forefoot is comprised of the metatarsals and the phalanges and is distal to the midfoot.
The midfoot is comprised of the cuboid, navicular and cuneiform bones. The hindfoot is comprised of the talus and calcaneus.
The major joints separating the regions are the tarsometatarsal joint (Lisfranc Joint) and the mid-tarsal joint (Chopart joint).
